Continuing his long association with The National Lottery, Ore hosts a sparkling night of celebration, honouring the UK’s favourite Lottery-funded projects. Amongst a host of famous faces, the winners are the special guests on an evening which highlights the remarkable ways Lottery funding can make a huge difference to people’s lives.

Taking the reigns for the annual ceremony, having previously anchored The National Lottery Live Draws on BBC1, it’s a difference Ore knows all to well. Not only can they become overnight millionaires, but players of The National Lottery also raise £30 million each week, funding arts, sport, heritage and community projects that impact the everyday lives of so many.

A  total of 49 incredible causes made up the list of nominations for the 2017 Awards, many with a heart-warming or heart-breaking story behind them. However, there could only be 7 winners. Each one extraordinary in their own right, the achievement is made all the more special as it’s voted for by the British public.

Always a busy red carpet, Martin Kemp, Kimberley Walsh, Jessica Hynes, Tamzin Outhwaite and Bear Grylls are among the selection of stars in attendance. Other celebrity guests joined Ore to surprise a few unsuspecting audience members. It may not be a night for millionaires, but it promises to be a night to remember.

National Lottery Awards 2017 airs Wednesday 27th September, 10.45pm on BBC1. For more information or to catch up on BBC iPlayer, click here.
