ON-AIR: Ore to host BBC’s World Gymnastics coverage

boys

I knew I had unfinished business in China… From the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing to Nanning and the 2014 World Artistic Gymnastics. Just one month and one letter in it, just a shade of deja vu!

As strange as it’ll seem, I couldn’t be more excited to be presenting covering of the Championships next week. And we’ve a full programme too – each of the finals broadcast on BBC1/2 across six days next week, starting on Tuesday 7th October.

Olympic and Commonwealth Games aside, there can’t have been too many times we’ve broadcast six successive days of gymnastics. Such a commitment is simply credit to the talent of today’s crop of GB gymnasts and the level of interest that’s been steadily growing in the sport over recent years.

Some of my most memorable days in Glasgow this summer were spent witnessing home nation success in the Hydro. And once again we’ll be there at first hand, hopefully as the British teams earn another bagful of medals. A much more difficult task on the World stage, but no doubt they’ve got the ability in them. It’ll be an exciting watch. Hope you can join us.
